Where Secondhand items go to LIVE!

Well it's been a hot minute, but we are BACK! We've just launched our first drop of 2023 I'm so sorry it's taken us this long but I promise there's a reason.

For a while now I've been really struggling with Hart Clothing. Where it will go in the future, what I want from it now, is this even worth it???? All these questions circling around my head, most likely stemming from the huge change from being a student to (semi) adult life and finding a work/life/small business balance. This is the first time I've had to truly think about what I want in life.

I new from the start that I wanted Hart Clothing to be a sustainable brand. I mean if we're truly talking 'from the start,' I just wanted to make little crop tops out of some curtains for my own wardrobe, but the universe had other plans and here I am sharing my thoughts and ideas with you guys! But since the beginning I've struggled with 'sustainability.' What a huge topic/concept to take on. Can we ever truly be sustainable as a fashion brand? No not really. But I didn't want to ignore my love for making clothes and putting outfits together, but also wanted to hang on to sustainability for dear life. I didn't really have an experience in the fashion industry, or on the topic of sustainability. So after researching, and doing my masters dissertation on overconsumption within the fashion industry we landed here...

Hart Clothing is going to be a place secondhand items come to LIVE.

Our new business mission:

To create a sustainably minded approach to street/loungewear, giving a new lease of life to old materials and secondhand items. We know the world already has exactly what it needs, and instead of creating brand new fast fashion, we can upgrade already existing pieces or transform old materials into unique pieces you are proud to wear. Whether it's a secondhand jumper or what used to be someone else's curtain, we guarantee it's cooler this way. This is why from now on, we will be exclusively stocking secondhand garments and fabric, and giving them a new lease of life!!!!

Benefits to this change;

  • It reduces purchasing from fast fashion brands and promotes sustainably minded decisions when shopping.

  • It promotes upgrading items of clothing that would most likely be thrown out, ending up in landfill, and decreases overconsumption and excessive purchases within the fast fashion industry.

  • You get to know that your piece of clothing had a life before you and now has a cool new life.

  • You get cool new garments made from materials that would ordinarily not been a wearable item (e.g. curtain to crop top).

  • Your money goes to a small business trying to do a little bit of good in the world.

We hope you like this idea and new way for Hart Clothing to thrive! Look out for our limited regular drops of street/loungewear and our summer top collections coming soon!!! Follow Hart Clothing on instagram for regular updates at: @_hartclothing

lots of love
